Hello Sunshine…

Hello Sunshine…

Sunset in Siruana

While you are here

And after you are gone

When your journey into light

Means your time on Earth is done

The sun rises in the East

With spectacular display

To give the glory of your life

A reminder that this day

Is one you can enjoy

The world of wonder that surrounds

Your every waking moment

Colour in touch, sight and sound

Nature’s gifts are your life lessons

They’re instilled in tiny things

They’re a beautiful reminder

Of the joy that living brings

If it’s only for a moment

If your chance is only brief

Take the time to feel its pleasure

And be safe in the belief

That the sun that woke to greet you

At the beginning of the day

Will set with equal glory

In the West, when it will say

That the night is soon upon you

Did you take the time to play?

If not, then face the dark

With the comfort of a truth

That I will rise again to greet you

With another chance to choose

And on those days when you can’t see me

I am there staying strong

Some clouds might block my rays

But they will pass before too long

Like life, the sun is constant

But its brightness has to face

The challenge of the weather

That puts darkness in its place

When you look up to the sky

And you see a bank of clouds

The sun is still behind them

Perhaps its rays are peeping out

Determined, strong and willing

It’s intent on breaking through

Because though fleeting be that moment

It’s a chance to shine on you

Whatever life throws at you

Be like the sun

Make the most of the moments

Whenever they may come

To cast the light inside you

Bask in golden rays

Enjoy your precious time

Seconds, hours, days

And remember, there’s a limit

You are here as a guest

To see the sunrise in the East

And its setting in the West

When the Sea is like Glass

When the Sea is like Glass

Elaine Sturgess and Anna Garcia Cuartero

When the sea is like glass
A reflective place
Stand at its edge
Look into your face

It’s a mirror of nature
It flows on your skin
Floats across your eyes
Sees the life within

Capture its stillness
Bathe in its peace
Roll in its depths
Breathe and release

Soak in its wonder
Read what you see
They’re the words of guidance
What is meant to be

In the silence of calm
Hear the voice of your soul
Feel the beat of your heart
Let your spirit be whole

And when the storm is raging
As it surely will be
And the chaos prevailing
Tests your strength in degree

Remember the glass
And the face that you saw
Its return is as certain
As the sea to the shore

You are as constant
As that calm that’s beneath
The storm’s brief affair
Is just a test of belief

You have more courage
Than the surf’s cruel blast
You can ride the waves
Your balance will last

The wind will drop
The tides will pass
And your reflection will smile
When the sea is like glass

Where lovers stay

Where lovers stay

Inner Cage by Deviant At

With fingertips I brush your skin
It feels my heart, it lets me in
That touch is sure, it hears you breathe
My hands don’t ever want to leave
the place they crave upon your flesh
where lovers stay

But still your mind won’t disengage
The walls are raised, your inner cage
The feelings peak…., but disappear
Desire’s loss in face of fear

The dance starts now, we feel the flow
I say yes, as you say no
The rhythm’s there, but out of line
I draw away, it's not our time

You take control and pull me back
My head spins at my heart’s attack
I whisper softly in your ear
But now it’s mine, that inner fear
My hands are tied I cannot reach
where lovers stay

And now my mind can’t disengage
The walls are raised, my inner cage
The feelings peak…., but disappear
Desire’s loss in face of fear

And still we dance and feel the flow
You say yes, as I say no
The rhythm’s there, but out of line
You draw away, it's not our time

The question hangs, I can’t let go
If I say yes, will you say no?
Our minds control our every move
We stay apart and sing the blues
Even though I long to be
Where lovers stay

Releasing fear is hard to do
Let walls come down and see it through
But when fear is strong, it’s strength belies
The power of feeling that it hides
That soft and secret desire to be
Where lovers stay

Heart or mind, which will it be?
If they could be in harmony
The truth would let itself reveal
The tender depth of what we feel
And all that fear would disappear
In face of what should be so clear
That love is where this dance must lead
Desire’s win will set us free

Let’s start again, this dance is new
I say yes… will you say it too..?
The rhythm’s there, let’s get in line
Draw together, make now our time

My fingertips will brush your skin
And now I know your heart is in
I’ll whisper softly in your ear
The words I know you want to hear
And when we dance, in rhythm, whole
We’ll feel the movements in our souls

Mine to hold

Mine to hold

Mine to hold

There’s a note you play, that takes me away

like a whisper, a touch it feels like such

sweet melody that connects you and me

close my eyes, feel you near through that sound that I hear

inside, in my blood, like a flood

of light to my heart, where do you end and I start?

And I wonder if there’s a place for me

In your music or your poetry

Does our rhythm dance within your soul?

or are you playing in a different key

looking for a different me

another heart to make you whole

are your words not mine to hold

mine to hold

it’s an echo, that sound, you lost and I found

a song from your past, written and cast

like a stone in the sea for your love, not for me

for the soul that’s apart, ripped from your heart

still there but yet gone, its for her that you long

to hold to your skin, touch that place deep within

And I wonder if there’s a place for me

In your music or your poetry

Does our rhythm dance within your soul?

Or do you feel it differently

Are you looking for a different me

another heart to make you whole

your words aren’t mine to hold

mine to hold

will it ever be mine, that light that you shine

on the scars across your heart, will we start

to heal, to find love, to feel

that note you play, that takes me away

that whisper, that touch that feels like such

sweet melody that connects you and me

And I wonder if there’s a place for me

In your music or your poetry

Does our rhythm dance within your soul?

Can you feel it differently

Or are you looking for a different me

Another heart to make you whole

Can your words be mine to hold

mine to hold

Just a Little More Time…

Just a Little More Time…

Letting go is hard to do… so often we remain in the comfort of feelings from the past because it feels safer than facing the fear we have about the unknown path of our future. Unlocking our hearts, removing the barriers that protect us from the pain we have experienced in the past is a leap of faith. It is also the road to freedom:

Just a little more time

With a broken heart

For its shattered rhythm

To beat apart

Just a little more time

For the wounds to heal

For the scars to form

And start to feel

Just a little more time

With the walls in place

To protect from pain

And its cold embrace

Just a little more time

Until the light comes in

From the darkest night

Let the day begin

Just a little more time

Is fear’s best friend

The future’s promise

That the night won’t end

Just a little more time

Is the past’s desire

To fuel its flames

In the present’s fire

There is only one time

And in it we are whole

Our scars are the marks

Of our heart and soul

Tender reminders

That we live to love

And now is the time

To rise above

To let go of the past

Let the future remain

An unknown force

Of its own domain

The time is now

The moment is this

It’s the air’s caress

It’s the sunlight’s kiss

So take just a little more time

To enjoy right now.
